Any other questions? Contact us at lessons@elevatesnowsports.com
Is a helmet necessary?
We recommend all guests wear helmets regardless of experience. Not only do they greatly improve safety, but they also keep your head warm.
If the weather is bad will the lesson be cancelled?
It is unlikely that the lesson will be cancelled due to bad weather. The instructor will assess weather reports prior to the lesson and recommend the most suitable area on the mountain for the lesson to take place.
Is a lift pass necessary?
Lift passes give the guest access to the gondolas and chair lifts. If the guests are first-time skiers or snowboarders it is unlikely they will need a lift pass in their first lesson. Although people progress at different rates, we would recommend first-timers bring ash with them and our instructor will assist in buying the most appropriate pass. If the guest is a beginner and has been on a hair lift before, it is highly likely they will need a lift pass so the instructor will be able to take them on appropriate lifts.
Which lift pass is most appropriate?
For guests choosing private lessons, we recommend an all-mountain lift pass, as the instructor will advise on the day which is the best resort to take them to. Weather is a huge factor in this decision as when the conditions are windy, hair lifts will often temporarily close. By having an all-mountain lift pass, will give the guest more freedom to go to the resort with the best snow and the least crowds.
Where can the guests start their on-mountain lesson?
Guests can either begin their lesson at Niseko Grand Hirafu Ski Resort or Niseko Annupuri Ski Area, if guests would like to explore other parts of the mountain i.e. Niseko Village Ski Resort or Niseko Hanazono Ski Resort, they will have to ride over during their lesson.
Can adults and children take part in the same lesson?
Children above the age of 12 can share the lesson with an adult. Please see here for a ability chart.
Can the guest stay on the mountain after their lesson has finished?
Guests are welcome to stay on the mountain and continue with their skiing or snowboarding, but they will become responsible for getting themselves back to their accommodation once they are finished. The instructor will still leave the mountain at the scheduled time if the guests choose to stay.
